As someone who has been a lifetime Dungeon and Dragons player, the concept grabbed my attenion. As someone who works for the glass manufacturer, when I heard about this project, I knew they were serious about the qaulity of the Product.
I am not a big Bourbon or Whisky drinker, so the fact that I have acquired all 6 bottles to date to go in my display cases, shows how much this entire product has reached out into the universe...
Can't wait for the next one.
On the nose, getting some of that vanilla, and some form of sweetness that is quite nice!
On the palette, strong toffee notes abound, along with some spices. It is quite smooth and the finish makes me want to take another sip.
I think my Tiefling Rogue/Hexblade Warlock would really like this bottle. Another winner from Quest's End!
While I lay there in my last moments. I drink the red elixir that was given to me from a traveling monk, with the warning of a fire in my stomach! As I swallow, not only in my stomach but from the tip of my tongue all the way down flames have gave way as life began to fill me once again to continue battle! I will not ever doubt the words of that traveling monk when he said "this is the flame of life" , ever again.
Certainly the strongest of the QWE offerings, the inclusion of the pipette and detailed instructions for use is a nice touch to help tailor the experience.
I enjoyed the intensity and the deep cherry mixed with a hint of vanilla helped spread out some of the robust warmth - I found even without using the pipette this was not an overwhelming whiskey, and the subtle parts of the flavor profile weren't overshadowed by the cask strength. Highly recommend it to thoae that enjoy a wilder whiskey experience or a milder one as well.
Like the title says… Quests End has done it again! I am a DND fan so I convinced my spouse to get this and 3 others with the HRG. With this being the first cask strength whiskey, the flavors were delightful! And with the addition of the dropper… that was the cherry on top! Wonderful job, Quests End! Can’t wait for the next one!
Honestly I was hesitant at first, because the last 'cask strength' whiskey I had tried was really bad. And left a very bad after taste. But not with Monk. Strong at first with a smooth finish. Using the dropper to add water was a first for me, but after using, made the flavors explode. I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend.
It was delicious! My wife and I had ours neat and it had great flavor. I love the higher proof as it added a bit of the burn on the back end that I don't often get with anything under 100 anymore.
I don't think I'll even try it as a cocktail. I loved it as is! Definitely one of my favorites, and up there with Paladin and Dragon.
Monk is hands down my favorite QEW release to date! Very well done! The black cherry and barley on the nose is very welcoming. The burn (at full strength) is intense but does not linger. The vanilla and granola roll of the back of the tongue and down the throat leaving the tongue wrapped in this ever so subtle plum flavor. I have been drinking it at neat, and at full strength. It has been such a wonderful drink to sit and just take in the flavor blend. GOLD STAR! CHEERS!
I have been sharing each bottle with my work Dungeons and Dragons group. The Monk bottle was an absolute favorite among us. It really channels the magical energy that the Monk class embodies. The bottle itself is gorgeous, and the story just added to its magic. The addition of the dropper was a welcomed surprise. Looking forward to more variations of this marvelous line of spirits.
Hands down one of the best reads so far, and can't wait for the next part in the series! The addition of the dropper is a truly fantastic idea and the kind of attention to detail one can always expect when getting a Quest's End product!
This just might be the best in the series yet! Absolutely delicious flavors, has a nice bite but it's not overheating, excellent to sip on over great conversation with friends and family!
Monk is amazing. Even at cask strength the flavors are subtle and the “burn” is more like a sweet spice on the back of the palate. Add a few drops of water with the provided dropper or let it sit on a large cube for a bit to totally unlock the flurry of blows in terms of flavors. Monk is one of the best in this line!
This is my second favorite bottle since I purchased the first season with rogue being my personal favorite. Little irked that the 62% feels drawn on at the last min as it can be scrapped off easily with my nail on a $100+ bottle.
The flavor is great and the higher proof makes this a go-to sipper. It really gave me that "pop! pop!" to the pallet that I look for.
This bottle delivered the old one-two... total knockout. You can taste the story in this whiskey. I'll have another please. Thanks
Every Quest's End whiskey has a different flavor profile, blend, strength and, ultimately, it's own surprise on first tasting. Monk is perhaps the most unique so far - a real kick-in-the-mouth at cask strength, but long legs for mixing, if you dare.
Malt whiskey is generally “meh” for me. I’ll drink it but it’s not my first choice. So when I received Monk, I wasn’t very excited. Then I tried it. It’s spicy because of the cask strength, but man is it tasty. Adding a cube or two mellows it out and opens up the aromas and flavors. I find it slightly sweet and earthy. There are no fruity essences in this bottle. Every sip I took while trying it with my neighbor just got better and better. I’m a fan, and look forward to the opportunity to pick up another bottle.
Brilliant idea, and a delicious cask whiskey. It packs a punch, but hits just right! Sip and savor and ponder the universe. Quest's End does it again!
Love the flavor profile. And the over all strength of it.
It's not a mixer type of bottle. It's a sip with a cigar type of bottle.
Tasting Monk with my whiskey sipping group, we agreed that this was a great shift and change to the flavor profiles we’ve seen in previous seasons of Quest’s End. Hoping for more experimentation in the future, maybe a rye???
I've been purchasing Quest's End since the Paladin (though I've missed that one every time unfortunately because of how quickly it sells out) and I've been gifting them to my Fiancé. He loves the varying flavor profiles each individual one and the diverse notes. He doesn't typically like American whiskey and is pretty picky with his hard liquor, but he loves these whiskeys. He also commends the cask strength and says he liked it and it is only beaten for him by the Druid that had released earlier this year. Will definitely be continuing our tradition of purchasing these fantastic whiskeys. Thank you for all your efforts!
I am loving this bottle. It’s beautiful and delicious, my favorite find familiar release.
Not being a cask-strength connoisseur, I tasted it neat with trepidation. It was not as hot as other non-cask strength whiskeys I've tried. I then added a few drops of water from the pipette. It brought out more of the flavor. I then added a small ice chip to see how that changed it. That was my favorite. It's definitely a sipper! This may have been my favorite character story too.
I shared it with all of my different D&D groups. Everyone agreed it was exceptional. The pin and journal are nice perks!
