A KILLER OCTOBER

A KILLER OCTOBER

INSIDE MACABRE SPIRITS’ MOST HAUNTINGLY EXCITING MONTH YET

If there’s one thing we know how to do at Macabre Spirits, it’s how to make October count. This month has been packed with unforgettable events, killer collabs, and of course, plenty of whiskey. From red carpets in Hollywood to horror trivia nights in Jacksonville, here’s everything we’ve been up to (and what’s still to come before Halloween wraps).

STEP ONTO THE BLOOD-RED CARPET

We kicked off the spooky season on October 7th with a night straight out of a horror fan’s dream:the red carpet launch of Ice Nine Kills’ brand-new song and music video, The Laugh Track in Hollywood.

A murderer’s row of horror celebs were the first to ever taste our new whiskey made from Bloody Butcher Corn, Horrorwood Reserve. This bourbon is the result of months of collaboration with INK, blending their theatrical flair for the freaky with our obsession for crafting top-tier spirits in a murderous marriage built on storytelling and love of horror.

HORRORWOOD RESERVE MAKES ITS PUBLIC DEBUT

Two days later, the gates of Horrorwood swung open for everyone with the public sale on October 9th. Fans of INK and fine whiskey did not hold back—in just one week, bottles were almost sold out. Like the villain’s first kill… this one won’t be around much longer.

JAX HORROR FILM FEST x MACABRE SPIRITS

Mid-month, we launched something brand-new: Monthly Horror Movie Trivia Nights at Manifest Distilling in Jacksonville, starting on October 16th and running all the way through February 19th, 2026. Each night builds up to the first-ever Jacksonville Horror Film Festival, which makes its terrifying debut in March.

These trivia nights aren’t just about bragging rights—they’re about building momentum for a festival that’s dedicated to blood-soaked cinema and fearless storytelling. Horror trivia, community, and great whiskey? We’re there!

FANGORIA x MACABRE SPIRITS

We couldn’t resist sponsoring one of horror’s biggest nights: the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, streamed live on Shudder on October 19th and hosted by two icons—Barbara Crampton (who also created one of our cocktail recipes featured in the Horrorwood Reserve boxed sets!) and Josh Ruben.

At Fangoria’s official watch party in LA, Find Familiar Spirits’ co-CEO Justin Ware hosted a Macabre Spirits tasting featuring Horrorwood Reserve and Macabre Spirits’ Hell Is Not Mocked, before settling in for a night of killer presentations by the likes of Ryan Coogler, David Howard Thornton, and GWAR. It was a celebration of everything we love about horror: the art, the icons, and the unapologetic excess.

YET TO COME… SILVERLAKE SCREAM SHOW x MACABRE SPIRITS

On October 31st, All Hallows’ Eve itself, we’ll be serving up a special Horrorwood Reserve and Hell Is Not Mocked Tasting Hour from 7:30-8:30 pm at the Silverlake Scream Show: a nonprofit event championing emerging horror filmmakers in Los Angeles. The Silverlake Scream Show’s mission is something we can get behind—empowering creatives to explore the darkness, push boundaries, and use horror as a force for storytelling, healing, and change. Ticket and location information here.

There is a bonus event up our sleeve, but you’ll have to wait until after the crypt of October closes to be let in on that secret… or you can just see it on Instagram or TikTok, because it’ll be splashed all over the socials immediately like blood all over the walls of a slasher’s bathroom.

CHEERS TO YOU

This month we’ve been excited to show that Macabre Spirits is more than just a whiskey brand; we’re a celebration of horror culture. We raise a glass to every fan, filmmaker, musician, and misfit who joins us in finding beauty in the dark.

Stay tuned for what’s next because at Macabre Spirits, every month is spooky season.

Carpe noctem!
