RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

• 2 oz Macabre Spirits Hell Is Not Mocked Texas Whiskey

• 1 oz blood orange juice

• 0.25–0.5 oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)

• 1 dash Angostura bitters

• Scotch (a smoky single malt) for rinsing the glass

• Scorched blood orange wheel

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Place your blood orange wheel on a baking tray.

2. Sprinkle sugar on the orange wheel.

3. Using circular motions, wave a kitchen torch over the orange wheel until the sugar chars. Set aside.

4. Pour a small amount of smoky Scotch into your Old Fashioned glass. Swirl it to coat the inside, then discard the excess.

5. In a mixing glass, combine the whiskey, blood orange juice, simple syrup, and Angostura bitters.

6. Add ice to the mixing glass and stir until well-chilled.

7. Strain: Strain the mixture into your Scotch-rinsed Old Fashioned glass over one large ice cube.

8. Garnish: Garnish with a scorched slice of blood orange.
